Although we recently learned some somewhat disastrous news regarding Microsoft's plans for its mobile devices, the Redmond company has a different objective and clearly intends to continue launching new products that will eventually allow them to gain a larger market share.
They won't have it easy, and one of their attempts will surely be Windows Surface Phone, although this won't arrive, presumably, until 2017. What we do know now is that Microsoft has made it clear that the company is committed to continuing to support Windows 10 Mobile for many years.
In an email sent to its partners and executives , Terry Myerson, vice president of Microsoft's Windows and devices division, made it clear that they will continue to offer support to all devices running Windows 10 Mobile.
Committed to bringing Windows 10 to mobile devices with small screens and ARM processors, they believe in the value of their product and are firm in their decision to continue supporting the Windows 10 Mobile platform for many years, as stated in an email sent by Myerson. This statement comes amidst concerns from some of their partners regarding the company's negative figures for its mobile division.
We also hope that Microsoft doesn't grasp at straws like the Surface Phone and takes the time to launch a device that truly captures attention and can expand upon the great success achieved with the Surface tablets. It will be difficult, since economics dictates the terms and often puts pressure on the timeline ahead. We know that April 2017 is the chosen date for the Surface, so if they bring it forward, we could indeed be facing that "straight straw."
