The Internet has not only reached our lives but also our computers and that means that sometimes different users are those who use the equipment with their different hobbies or we need to work with dates and times in another country or region.
Although it's not a well-known Windows feature, Windows 10 and its earlier versions allow you to change the date and time format according to your region or personal preferences. This is all possible regardless of the specific Windows 10 version or language you're using.
Windows 10 allows us to customize the format of the system date
To make this change, first go to Settings , then to Time and Languages . In the window that appears, in the left-hand column, click on Date and Time . This will display various options for changing the date and time format. You can choose to display the month, year, or day first, as in the Spanish format.
It will also allow us to change the time, adding seconds, specifying morning/evening hours, or adapting it to our needs . In any case, we must remember the letters that Windows assigns to each element to understand the order we choose. Thus, "M" corresponds to month, "d" to day, and "Y" to year. In the case of time, "H" corresponds to hours and "m" to minutes.
In addition, Windows 10 allows you to enter a new format that isn't listed or that you want to customize. To do this, go to Control Panel → Clock, Language, and Region . There, under Region, you'll find an option called "Change date, time, or format." A screen will then appear with the different formats , and at the bottom, a button that lets you add new formats. Once you've configured the desired format, save it and close any open windows.
