When MS-DOS was king, and when Windows versions were still a layer for customizing interaction with the operating system, .bat files were the order of the day. These types of files were a kind of workflow that allowed us to perform various tasks automatically. This type of file was available on most CDs and DVDs with applications, since allowed them to run automatically once they were entered into a computer. But with the rise of USB sticks, executable files of this type have also become our daily bread but to a lesser extent.
For some time now, Microsoft has chosen to continue providing users with automatic playback of the CDs, DVDs or USB sticks that we insert into our computer but through another method, a method that we can find within the configuration options of our PC. I have never particularly liked the options that Windows natively offers me when introducing a device of this type in the computer and I have always preferred disable this option and do it manually.
If you find yourself in the same case as me, below we show you how we can deactivate the automatic reproduction of any unit that enters our PC with Windows 10, either a CD, DVD or USB stick. This option can also prevent us from some other virus from infecting our computer, especially if we are not clear about its origin, origin that if it is not clear we should not introduce it into our computer.
