There are very few weeks left for our Windows 10 to start receiving the new big system update and it will be something significant for our computers, there is no doubt.
Last week we learned that the minimum hardware specifications will be lowered with the Creators Update , requiring only 1GB of RAM. But there's more. The new update will include Dynamic Lock, a new locking feature that many users will appreciate.
Dynamic Lock is a locking system that will use our mobile phone , so that when we move away from the computer, the system will lock automatically, without having to wait a certain amount of time for it to lock or having to do it manually.
Dynamic Lock will lock our computer just by leaving the room
This blocking function was announced as a security measure that Windows 10 incorporated as a novelty compared to Windows 8 but it is true that so far it was not working.
Dynamic Lock uses your phone's Bluetooth module to lock or unlock your computer . When you move far enough away that the computer loses its signal, Dynamic Lock will activate and lock it. To reactivate it, simply bring your phone close.
Dynamic Lock is now available to users on the Fast ring of the Insider program , although there isn't much official documentation yet on how this new feature works and its compatibility. We'll likely learn more with the official release of the Creators Update.
This means we don't know if it will actually work only with Windows Phone devices or with any device we pair via Bluetooth, including iPhones and Android phones. We also don't know its energy consumption , which is important for many users, since computers don't have battery life issues, but mobile phones can when Bluetooth is enabled.
