FPS in Windows 10

Frames Per Second (FPS) are crucial for gaming, as they significantly impact how you perform in a video game, especially in online multiplayer games. However, FPS drops can be incredibly frustrating on Windows 10 PCs. But don't worry, we've got a simple tutorial on how to improve your Windows 10 PC's FPS for optimal gaming performance. This will dramatically increase your FPS and enhance your overall gaming experience. Don't miss this tutorial from Windows News.

If you have an account on the Xbox App

We'll go to the Xbox app, then to the settings menu, select the Game DVR feature, and disable it. This is the easiest and fastest way, but as mentioned, you'll need an Xbox account. For those without an account, here's how to fix it.

Modifying the Windows Registry

We will open the Windows 10 search bar and enter the terms "regedit" to press Enter immediately. The registry editor will open and we must look for the following path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ System \ GameConfigStore \ GameDVR_E nabled

Once there, double-click on " GameDVR_Enabled " and a small pop-up window will appear with a value, which may be "1". Delete it and enter "0" (zero). Verify that "Hexadecimal Base" is selected and click the OK button. Now exit, saving the changes with "Done".

There is another step left, we will reopen the registry editor as before and we will go to the following address:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / PolicyManager / Default / ApplicationManagement / AllowGameDVR / value

We searched for AllowGameDVR and, as before, changed its value to "0" . This won't drastically improve FPS on low-end graphics cards, but gamers will appreciate this system performance boost.
