While it is true that we have known for a long time that the Surface Phone would carry two different types of processors, a model with a Qualcomm processor and another model with an Intel processor, now it seems that such a thing will not happen.
As confirmed by Intel itself , the processor company will be leaving the mobile and tablet chip market , which means the cancellation of Project Sophia and Project Broxton. These projects represented Intel's focus on the mobile market.
After reviewing their financial reports, Intel's management has decided to withdraw from certain markets ; those markets, for the moment, are mobile phones and tablets. That's why we now say that Surface Phone will not have Intel processors.

Everything points to Microsoft's new device using a Qualcomm chip, since Windows 10 Mobile doesn't currently support MediaTek processors. Therefore, we believe the Surface Phone will feature the already well-known Snapdragon 830 , a processor for high-end devices that hasn't yet been released.
But the Surface Phone wouldn't be the only device affected by Intel's decision. Thanks to Intel chips, many tablets have been able to run Windows 10 and Windows 8, something that will no longer be possible since there will be no more tablets with these processors. Fortunately, the Surface Pro and Surface Book won't be affected by this decision because they use i5 and i7 processors , which Intel will continue to manufacture since it will still be present in the desktop and laptop market.
Personally, I think it's sad that Intel is withdrawing from these markets, as it was the third option for many manufacturers and users . It also had good things like Windows 10 tablets and could have been a great option for the Surface Phone; unfortunately, we won't be able to see that.
