Microsoft has been working for some time to get all users who are still using Windows 7 or Windows XP—and surprisingly, there are still many—to upgrade to Windows 10. A few days ago, the Redmond company officially stated that continuing to use Windows 7 was dangerous due to the many vulnerabilities in the now-old version of its operating system.
The problem with all of this is when what you say isn't true, and an external company exposes your flaws with a report that points in the completely opposite direction. The company Risk Based Security has concluded that security breaches, or vulnerabilities, were more prevalent in Windows 10 during 2016 than in Windows 7.
Below is a chart showing that Windows 10 had 705 vulnerabilities compared to the 647 found in Windows 7. Internet Explorer, as we all suspected, takes first place with a whopping 1.261 vulnerabilities.
This does not mean that Windows 10 is an operating system that is not secure, but it must be very clear that the new version of the operating system is in continuous development and it is normal that it has more vulnerabilities than others. Windows 7 has been on the market for a long time and after all the development time that has been invested in it, it is normal that at this point it is more secure than the new Windows.
