Microsoft, whether some like it or not, has always been one of the few companies that has consistently listened to its users. In fact, it was the users who convinced Microsoft to bring back the Start button after the release of Windows 8.0, a version that removed it—a change that sparked outrage among users. Now, Microsoft offers further proof that the folks in Redmond are always attentive to what users think and want for their platform : battery management combined with the power of our PCs.
Often, especially when I have to leave home with my Windows 10 laptop, I'm forced to reduce its power settings if I want to be able to complete all the tasks I have planned. If I need more power, I have to click on the battery icon and change the power plan to High performance, which will reduce battery life depending on how long I use this plan.
If we are running out of battery, and we want to maximize the minutes we have left, we must use the same key combination to access the power plans and select the one that offers the least consumption.
All these tasks take time and are a real hassle every time we have to adjust the power, and therefore the battery life, of our laptop . To solve this, Microsoft will launch a new battery management option where we'll be able to control our computer's power level by sliding a bar.
If we set it to the maximum, on the right, the battery will drain quickly, but we'll be able to take full advantage of our PC's power . Conversely, if we set the level to the left, the power will be reduced to the minimum possible, extending battery life as much as possible.
